Coreopsis 'Red Satin' (Permathread™)   

A Sunny Border Introduction! First variety in the new Permathread™ series from Coreopsis breeder Darrell Probst! Deep wine red to ruby red flowers (1.5") with orange centers, bloom all summer. Its tighter, clump forming habit makes it perfect for use as an accent plant in the perennial garden. It keeps its solid red coloration, even in the heat of southern summers. Closely related to the verticillatas but with much better, darker green foliage and no rhizomes, so it blooms heavy. In addition, its sterile, giving it exceptional disease resistance and longevity of bloom. 15-18" tall (first and second year) with 18-22" spread and sturdy, well branched habit.

The dwarf forms are good for the front border while the taller varieties lend themselves to the mid border.
