Spergularia rubra

With no common name to speak of and having such a mouthful for a botanical name it’s no wonder not many have heard of this plant and mores the pity because Spergularia is cute as a button! The petite pink carnation-like flowers are held on wiry stems 2-4” above the ground-hugging foliage. Thought of as a wildflower they naturalize easily and bloom May-Oct. once established. Perfect for rock gardens, alpine troughs or the front of borders. Dislikes too much water.

    Hardiness Zones:5-9
    Deer Resistant:No
