Papaver orientale 'Brilliant Red'

Very large, scarlet-orange flowers with black blotches at the base of the petals. Blooms profusely May-June on 36" stems.

    Common Name:Oriental Poppy
    Hardiness Zones:3-8
    Deer Resistant:No
Growing Tips: Plant in well drained soil.

About Papaver: Consider overplanting your poppies with a leafy perennial, ornamental grass or annual to fill the gap left after flowering and going dormant. When using as a cut flower singe the stem ends with a flame to prevent poppy sap from bleeding out. This will keep the poppy fresher longer.
