Heuchera villosa ‘Brownies’

Heuchera 'Brownies' is another superb coral bell from French breeder Thierry Delabroye. Since it is a H. villosa cross, it is more heat tolerant than other Heucheras. It makes a vigorous clump more than 2' tall that is adorned with large, fuzzy, olive-brown leaves, topped with tall spikes of small, white flowers in summer. The new leaves have a deeper chocolate color and mature to olive green as they age. It contrasts well with the ornamental grass Hakonechloa macra ‘Aureola’.
