Gentiana ‘True Blue’

From hybridizer Darrell Probst comes this floriferous new gentian with large (2”), upward-facing, true blue bell flowers. Blooms appear up and down stems of medium green, lance-shaped leaves from midsummer into early fall. Grows 24-30” tall and 12-18” wide. Great for the mid border.

    Common Name:Gentian
    Hardiness Zones:4-7
    Deer Resistant:No
Growing Tips: Plant in moist, well drained, gritty soil.

About Gentiana: Gentiana is highly valued for its true blue flowers but there are a few species that have creamy white to yellow blooms. Low growing, they work wonderfully when tucked into crevices in stonewalls or nestled among other plants in the garden. The smaller ones are ideal for rock and alpine gardens and troughs.
