About Clematis: Clematis are mostly known for their climbing habit however there are non-climbing forms as well. Non-climbers, such as C. heracleifolia work well in the garden like any other perennial. The climbing forms like their roots in the cool shade and their ‘heads’ in the sunshine and are especially suited to trellises, pergolas, arbors, fences and porches.
