Alcea rosea ‘Halo Red-Yellow’

Spikes of large (5"), vibrant dark magenta-red, single blooms have yellow centers. Grows to 6' tall and blooms late summer. Looks spectacular in the back of the border.

    Common Name:Hollyhocks
    Hardiness Zones:3-8
    Deer Resistant:No
Growing Tips: Plant in moist but well drained soil.

About Alcea: Usually categorized as biennial, Hollyhocks will act more as a perennial if the flower spikes are cut back before they develop mature seeds. We recommend letting a flower spike or two mature to allow the seeds to drop to ensure a succession of plants.
