About Adiantum: Maidenhair Fern is known for many tender species used as houseplants, however, there are some species that are totally hardy outdoors. They all share the beautiful, delicate, oblong or fan-shaped leaves and the dark colored stem. They enjoy moisture and can be used along waterways, water features or any moist garden area. They are also very effective planted in rockeries or crevices in stonewalls.
